First WOW, it has been a really really long time since I posted on this site. I remember posting on this site (I believe under different management/administration) about 4 years ago. Frankly, much of the discussion had nothing to do with high definition at all, however, the discussion was rather amusing.
With that said, I have to make a correction to the initial post on VC-1 that was made some months ago.
VC-1 is supported in both the HD DVD and Blu-ray specifications, and hence, fully supported in all HD DVD and Blu-ray players.
In fact, some studios which publish on both formats use the same VC-1 encoded file for both formats, which saves time & money since only one encoded file needs to be created and can be used to creation an HD DVD and Blu-ray version.
