Sound (& Other) problems with reciever

Hi there, I got a reciever a while ago with my old TV. I had a PS3 and a Wii and had them both hooked up to it and to my TV. I have some Sony floor standing speakers hooked up to the reciever as well and there was no problem with it, the sound would go through the speakers - not the TV.

Yesterday I bought a 42" HDTV and a XBox 360, and am having trouble setting everything up.

I have an HDMI cable running from the TV to the reciever and another form the PS3 to the reciever. I have standard cables (red, white, yellow) for the Wii and Component for the XBox 360. If I plug all three systems into the reciever and then the reciever into the TV, I get video for the PS3 but only audio for the other 2.

I assumed this was because I only had HDMI going form the TV to the reciever, so I'll get another HDMI for the XBox 360 and I have no idea what to do about the Wii.

But the big problem is I can't get the audio to route to the floor standing speakers. All the audio goes through the TV speakers, even if I go into the settings and select External as the audio output.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
