A Jackpot of Stars in HiDef - December 7th 2000!

    Watch Trailer

Last night, Jackpot, an indie feature from the Polish Brothers (Michael and Mark), showed selected clips to a audience at the Entertainment Technology Center (Pacific's Hollywood Theater) in connection with the Post Group Hollywood. The movie was striking and received a great response, because, it wasn't film - it was HiDef. The movie was digitally projected at the Pacific Hollywood Theater.

Jackpot's bevy of talent included stars, Jon Gries (Pretender), Garrett Morris (SNL), Daryl Hannah (Splash), Anthony Edwards (ER), Adam Baldwin (The Patriot), Mac Davis (Possums), Crystal Bernard (Wings), Peggy Lipton (The Postman) amongst others. But what was most fascinating is that these stars were all captured on Sony's Cine Alta Camera - the 24 frame progressive high definition camera designed by Sony and Panavision.

The HiDef masters will be tranferred to film at EFilm, yet Jackpot hopes to digitally project in as many U.S theaters as possible!

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the picture for release next summer. Jackpot was written and produced by Mark and Michael Polish, directed by Michael Polish and co-produced by Michael Huens and Jon Gries. The film was shot by M. David Mullen, who also shot Twin Falls Idaho, the Polish Brothers first film.
