There are many High Definition formats. Standard definition is 525 lines if vertical resolution. You probably only see about 480 lines at home. Some believe that 480p (progressive) is HD. Sony's current HD is 1080i (interlaced) of vertical resolution. They are currently beginning to deliver their new 1080 24p camera. This camera is switchable between 1080 of vertical res. 30i, 24p, 30p, and 25p and 25i (50 Hz standard). One cam for the whole world. Panasonic uses 720p as their standard. more»
