PEACE TALK AROUND THE WORLD
The first auction to raise money for the Tsunami victims of Phi Phi Island
in Thailand was very successful. But this wouldn't have been possible
without the generosity of so many people. Whether purchasing items, working
to organize the auction or donating goods and services, Highlander fans came
together to raise $45,020. To learn more about the charity drive please go
to Tsunami relief website. Adrian Paul in collaboration with Davis-Anderson Merchandising Corp, Davis-Panzer Productions and IMMORTAL AID have come together to raise funds for the devastated Thai Island of Koh Phi Phi. The first organization being targeted is called Krabi Relief Fund. They primarily target children and are at
present caring for those children who have lost both or one of their parents
in the disaster. This means cloths, food, transportation to school, fees,
and shelter. Their partner here in the U.S. is CAFAmerica.org. For tax
deductible donations please make your donation at the CAFAmerica site. If you are making a direct donation and do not need a tax deduction please visit the Krabi Relief Fund and make your donation directly with them. Please also mark ALL DONATIONS with the words "FOR PEACE" so that we
calculate how much is being raised. Thank you in advance for your support.
Any other questions please visit the respective sites for more details.

In light of the terrible disaster on December 26, 2004, I decided at the end
of the year to concentrate a lot of my efforts towards helping some of the
people who lost so much. Now there are officially over 180,000 dead, a third
of whom are said to have been children and many more still missing. To add
to the extent of the disaster there are millions that are homeless with no families
and no livelihood.
Relief luckily started arriving immediately and the extent of the effort has
been astounding, but it will be a long time before things get back to
normal, if at all. So, I urge all Peace members and anyone reading this
article to donate a little time or money to aiding the victims of this
disaster. You can donate directly to charity organizations such as OXFAM, the RED CROSS
and UNICEF who have tirelessly been at the forefront the
relief effort.
For my part I have decided to help a small island off the coast of Thailand
called Koh Phi Phi. All but wiped out by the killer waves, the island
community is trying to rebuild their lives but many things are uncertain at
the moment. Some might never get back what they lost since their ownership
records were washed away with everything else they lost.
Why Phi Phi Island? Well I know it very well, I have been there several time
visiting my brother and his family who barely escaped the killer waves with
nothing more than the cloths on their backs. For more information on the
relief effort please see the link to the Tsunami Relief effort on this
website.
Peace,
Adrian Paul
ADRIAN UPDATES
On Saturday, February 19, Adrian went to support the Olive Crest foundation
and their 16th Annual Rock n Bowl for the Kids at PINZ bowling alley in
Studio City, California.
Olive Crest is now serving over 4,000 abused children and families in
neighborhood homes, foster families, residential treatment centers and
non-public schools. But unfortunately, they are still turning away
approximately 100 children every month, simply because they don't have
enough homes and families for them.
Adrian went for about two hours to lend his support and bowl a few games.
He jokingly said that his first game wasn't all that good, his second a little better and his third, well he was happier with 166.
Adrian presented this year at the Fourth Annual DVD Exclusive Awards on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Annenberg Building at the California Science Center near the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The DVD Exclusive Awards recognize the individual and collaborative artistic achievement in bonus features produced for DVD special editions of theatrical films, and all creative contributions made to movies produced specifically for home viewing. Sponsored each year by "Variety" sister publication "DVD Exclusive" magazine, additional information is available at their Website: www.dvdexclusive.com. This year, the magazine donated a portion of the proceeds of the event to the American Red Cross tsunami relief effort.

LITTLE CHICAGO
The town of Gastonia, North Carolina, has a nickname, "Little Chicago," that comes from a shared history of crime and violence as well as an identical per capita murder rate. Writer, producer and star Scott Miles
("October Sky," "Remember the Titans") grew up in Gastonia and turned his
fascination with the town and its colorful history into a compelling,
present-day saga full of off-beat, quirky characters. Set against a gritty
backdrop of violence, action and drama, "Little Chicago" is a sometimes
humorous, sometimes heartbreaking tale that keeps you fully engaged as the
characters struggle to find their places in, or away from, the town known
as "Little Chicago."
The cast of the film includes such veterans as Miles, Earl C. Poitier
("Remember the Titans," "Drumline"), Chris Coppola ("Simone" and the
upcoming "Polar Express" with Tom Hanks), and Adrian Paul. Adrian plays the
character of businessman Frank Newcome. This feature is produced by Nimbus
9 Productions and was directed by Richard Clabaugh. (www.rclabaugh.com) No release date has been set; keep checking back for more information.
