Thumbs down Microsoft will release Video Marketplace on the 22nd of Nov!

Last week a very credible rumor ran through the gaming world like "ninjas on fire". The rumor was that Microsoft was poised to release a video download service to rival IPOD's Video Service and also Neutralize Sony's last advantage (as Sony will sell music, movies, etc on their so called PlayStation Store). As most Microsoft rumors are, this one was true, very true. Microsoft has previewed the service for TEAMXBOX.COM and XBOX360.IGN.COM. Microsoft also has a press release on XBOX.COM. The download of standard definition/high definition Movies, TV shows and more was the only piece missing from the Microsoft masterpiece called "XBOX LIVE". The masterpiece is now complete.

This is GREAT. The Music and Movie industry has been at the beckon call of Apple for sometime (something the industries HATE) and Sony's competitors in the "movie space" do not want Sony to get ahead of them (and this also allows them to make back money lost on Blu-Ray) in digital distribution to the masses. We are at a new dawn and it feels fantastic!

How do you feel about this (cause I am dancing in the streets)?

Now Sony is SCARED!!! LOVE IT!!

Sony seems to think that MS is cutting core users out of the deal.. Core users are the minority and not majority. With a larger hard drive coming the 20GB will sell for next to nothing.. Sony is SCARED sh*tless..

Just need NBC to hop on the service so we can get Heroes episode downloads. And I've seen Battlestar Galactica downloads in the past on Live... maybe that will become available in the future?

So will there be HD content here too? And is a larger Hard Drive confirmed? If not... these 20 Gig drives (of which not all is availible for user use... so more like 15GB?) will fill up really fast.

If microsoft doesn't get Fox onboard and have "24" downloadable then the whole thing is moot. LOL. I'd really like to do an A/B comparison of Fox's HD broadcast of 24 and what it would look like from microsoft.

At the moment it lacks more HD downloads, not to mention Canadians can't access it, but it's still a great place to get some classics. The movies look amazing for a download, can't wait til they add more as the VM becomes more well known.
