They've been arrogant ever since they announced the PS2.
"Toy Story Graphics..." give me a break.
The only reason people are prasing the PS3s capabilities is because they were used to the normal, jaggy graphics of the PS2. (there are exceptions)

And don't get me started on Blu-Ray.

It's amazing to me. Sony has managed to do things for gamers that many people fail to give them credit for. And it all started by a "gamer oriented" company screwing them at a CES oh so many years ago.

Now, I'm not going to say PS3 is perfect, quite the opposite. But I've definately not ragging on several of the issues mentioned here because they are, simply put, pathetic.

PSX killed Saturn? How about Sega coming from 3 previous failures (Sega Game Gear, Sega CD, 32X), not even telling the US division Saturn was launching soon (literally, they knew about Saturns US launch under two months before it happened and many retailers were like "wait, where the hell did this come from?"), halfassing the 3D abilities (due to the push for 3D but Saturn trumped PSX with 2D) last minute, launching with a version of Virtua Fighter which, quite frankly, sucked worse than the 32X version, and failing to go about the simple task of advertising your own product? Sega was on the ball with Saturn in Japan, going toe to toe with PSX until the one nail drove Saturns death, FFVII. And to think, FFVII would not have been a PSX exclusive if not for the fact that, along with the Sony betrayal, Nintendo president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, publically bashed the Ultra 64 tech demo Final Fantasy 64.

And how DARE Sony push for an internet device which supported both broadband and narrowband! Seriously, you conveniently forget that part. It was both a modem and an ethernet connector. So why did Sony do such a hideous and horrible thing? One reason, really. Only about 12% of the US had access to broadband at the time. My situation was similar. If I wanted to play Xbox Live for it's first two years, it would have cost me $740 a month to bring in a compatible line. By your reasoning, Sony was ignorant and stupid to actually pay attention to me. Thanks, jerk. Nowadays, broadband is widespread and affordable but when the Playstation Network (and even Sega.net) was getting off the ground, it wasn't the case. And what did Sony give us for our trouble with buying the network adapter? A free game, Twisted Metal Black: Online and two demos. What did Microsoft give us? Two demos...

And system updates as a complaint? You're heralding 360 as awesome when all the games ship broken with a hope and promise that a patch will come along soon and make everything better? And no offense, but 360 updates right along with Wii. Your complaint here is just plain out hypocritical.

Consumers know exactly what they are paying for, just let them decided. If enough are truely convienced they are being ripped off, the sales of the PS3 will falter. With such a complex machine, and it's worth to each individual being so different, it's hard to say what's a rip off to each person. Keep that in mind.

This generation Sony has really adopted the "me too" attitude.

Nintendo: I have motion sensing.
Sony: Me too.

Microsoft: I have a great online service.
Sony: Me too.

Only problem is if Sony half-asses the "me too's," then what's left?

Thats one thing Ive not liked about consoles going online is game updates, before they did, developers had to be 100% sure they got all the bugs out before releaseing something, same with the systems themselves.

Now, you can release something thats buggy and promise a 'patch' later. Im used to it with PC games, but when it comes to consoles I expect to be able to just put the game in and have it play with no issues at all.

I don't feel Sony's games are going to be any less "broken" either. It's a fact, games nowadays are shipping like this, companies have deadlines and need to make money, or risk losing millions. So why not throw out something make some cash and "fix" it later?

I also think saying the games are "broken" is a little harsh. If they (publishers) update games at a later time to make improvements, I'm all for it. I haven't played a game that's unplayable due to it being "broken". Maybe on a PC, but never on the 360.

Seriously, just release them when you feel they are your masterpiece, Blizzard makes very few games but they make a shit ton of money because they only release games they feel will become blockbusters

-Shipping a system that needs a 10 MIN firmware update out of the box is wrong. That is a half baked product and it is unacceptable.

-Pushing a new interface (HDMI) that is still buggy on users is also wrong.

-Promising to meet XBOX LIVE and then delivering a basic PC experience is wrong. And even with the low High Speed penetration of the market at the time, XBOX LIVE reach a million users faster than any other service in history. Faster than TIVO, HBO, etc.

-Requiring users to use a USB cable to sync your wireless controller is weak.

-Removing rumble because you are too cheat to pay immersion for a patent that you violated is wrong (MS paid).

The 360 user experience out of the box is very good. This is a fact and not my opinion.

No one needs free demos with a new console (but demos were on the marketplace at launch for 360). We want full games that are fresh and good to play. MS has been leading. Sony has down absolutely nothing so far. Even with PS1 and PS2, they were not leading. MS beat them every step of way. I am pointing out facts. Ken at Sony even told people the console should cost more and that they should work two jobs. That is an insult to your loyal fans.

Any the PS3 is nowhere near perfect and ever will be. That is why Sony is talking PS4 already. Ken blew their chances.

And their BOM cost is 850.00. Sony does not have the deep pockets that MS has. MS has 40 billion in cash. Sony has a fraction of that and the game division is responsible for 60% of Sony's profits. So how long do you think they can sustain a loss? Sure MS loss money on XBOX 1 the whole generation (175.00 per console), BUT they could afford it where Sony cannot.

I know it pains people that the PS3 is doing so well. But one person is to blame, KEN KUTARAGI! Using the Cell and Blu-Ray was the biggest mistake. Also letting exclusives fly away was another mistake.

1. You know, I turned on my PS3, put in Resistance, and did NOT have to update the firmware. In fact, if you did your damn research, you'd realize that EVERY GAME that forces a firmware update has it on the disc, thus meaning you don't need to update the firmware unless you're utilizing the online portions of the console, in which case, updates and patches are par for the course.

2. For forcing HDMI, awfully strange that one isn't included in the box. Nor is the HDMI the ONLY output. Your attack in this regard is about as valid as me bitching that my Xbox 360 didn't come with an Optical cable.

3. Umm, you realize, of course, that well over 28 million individual PS2 have gone online, right? And of course you realize that Xbox Live is bragging on 10 million users across two platforms, right? Granted, having people pay for services every other console has for free, aside from a unified buddy list, is an accomplishment.

4. Oh yes, and this is a much harsher experience then having to press the center button on the controller, hitting the sync button on the console, hitting the sync button on the controller, and hoping this time, it takes. Same thing with the Wii. If you ask me, plugging a cable and hitting a single button is actually easier than the competitors...

5. In all honesty, I don't like rumble. If they used it worth a damn, I would have a different opinion but aside from a handful of games, rumble is one of the first things I disable. It's an annoying gimmick at best and I don't really miss it.

6. I know five people who own PS3s and have yet to hear a complaint like "darn it, I was just trying to open the box and I couldn't get the system hooked up fast enough before I was no longer interested." I mean, hell, Wii is a much more complex set up than the PS3 and yet people rave about that console.

Well, hate to say it. I could go all night on this stuff, but I won't. I'm not saying PS3 is perfect (actually far from it. If you request it, I can compile a list of legitimate bitches) but I told you majority of your complaints are lame and guess what, so far I've proven that.
