I thought the game looked beautiful but it was way too short. And I think the online needs some work.

I always prefer a great game, even if it's short, than a long game of complete crap.

Seems like there should be more gameplay on single player than 3-4 hours to justify a purchase. Granted the majority of people are playing on Live, but for a $60 purchase, I'd like to have more offline play than that.

I haven't actually played Gears of War, but my friends who own it say that it is kind of short. That being said, they're not complaining becuase of the Xbox Live Multiplayer. They did say if they didn't have DSL/Xbox Live they wouldn't of bought Gears of War. Take that for what you wish.

It took me a little longer than that the first time I played through it. Once I was done, I said "wow, that was awesome" and played through it again in Hardcore and then Insane. All the while also playing multiplayer and coop with my buddies over Live.

Yea the campaign could probably have been a little longer, but I didn't feel ripped off.

Me and 3 friends cycled co-op control and beat 'Hardcore' in about 5 hours

Granted over previous summers all we've are play FPS games when we're all back from school.

An FPS on the appropriate difficulty setting for you should last 8 - 12 hours of solid game play, Id expect 3 - 5 out of an expansion like HL2 Ep1, but any main FPS game that doesn't take over 8 is a little disappointing.

Gears could have used an extra campaign I think, I really liked the part where you drove the car through the city at night and I think they should have expanded on that and done some other mission where you got to man a vehicle.
