HD-DVD Drive For Xbox 360!

Did you see this???

Quote:
Xbox 360™ ushered in the era of high-definition gaming by standardizing high-definition resolutions and 16x9 widescreen support for every game (Xbox Live® Arcade included) on the system. What's more, Xbox 360, while powerful on its own, is also a foundation from which new technology and accessories can be added. Chief among these is the recently announced HD DVD add-on.

I am SOOOO getting this. No need to get the Toshiba, or any other standalone player if you already have an XBOX 360. This is just what the doctor ordered! I'll get this and then buy a PS3 and I will win the format war myself!

I don't think I have enough home-owners insurance if this thing is increasing the temperture already out of control around the 360.

Anyway, I noticed that they're selling extra fans and cooling systems now for the 360. This was their damn plan all along wasn't it!? Wasn't it!? I hate being had.

Had I tell ya! Just take a look for yourself.

I know, I know. It's not about the razor but the blade...I get it. Damn peripherals.

HD-DVD on the Microsoft website?

I saw a post at the forums over at the XBox website where someone actually saw an ad for the HD-DVD player! It must have been a mistake because it was immediatey pulled. May want to keep an eye on that website.

The number of HD-DVD owners is about to jump exponentially (come next month)... Will be very interesting as Blu-Ray may die before ever getting started.... ..

Late...

I wish we could crack this thing open and just replace the internal drive unit rather than having another box laying around. Sucks for the early adopters who have had a 360 for some time now. Maybe i can sell mine to some sucker and buy a new one with the HD drive installed.

As for the fans and additional parts for cooling i can say that it does lower the temp quite a bit but i think it works best for people who have the 360 sitting in an entertainment center. If its out in the open i dont know if heat is as much of an issue.

I am still afraid like most that this thing will light my house on fire or dissolve into a pile of melted plastic.

I plan on waiting until they respin the xbox cpu at a lower fab, and also for them to get smart and integrate the HD-DVD drive. Until then, my Dreamcast and Wii will keep me warm!

This should open up the HD market to more people.
Wish I could get in on this, and take advantage of a $200 HD player, but alas, no HDTV ;_;

Maybe when I do finally get a HDTV.
