Battlestations: Midway. My new "drug of choice"?

This little gem snuck in before Crackdown, and no one seems to have noticed. I did, and I have to say, this is a must purchase for me.

The demo features one multiplayer map, you can control American forces or Japanese forces, either based on land or sea. It supports up to 8 people online, and it's a heck of a good time. I don't know if I've experienced a game like this online in quite sometime. I may have to go back to my early PC days, Myth maybe...? I don't know. At any rate, the demo is great fun. It's a bit like a RTS, but it's nice to take control of any ship, sub, or plane in your squad. The online battles can range anywhere from 10 minutes to a good hour. I suppose it all depends on your experience, we were all amatuers, so they could go longer.

The graphics aren't especially wonderful considering it was originally designed on the Xbox, in fact I played it at E3 in 2005. But they do get the job done, I'm not complaining, they look good, of course they could be better. Graphics can always be better, but this title doesn't need to rely on graphics.

I'm getting it on day one...yep, day one. I haven't purchased a game on day one since...well...since...Madden...of all games! I can't wait for this title, even though it's a WWII game, and the setting is old hat, this game certainly brings out a fresh perspective. And certainly brings a much needed genre to the 360...

...much more when it's released...

I was in the process of downloading this when I just went to bed and intended on completing it the next day. However my "360 coffin" came early that day so I didn't get to finish or play it. Hopefully I get my 360 back soon.

was the game really that good? I notice you say RTS , and i have no clue what that is (google search comng up) but I hear that in reference to the Star Trek game alot and I was wondering is this game what Legeacy should have been.

RTS, stands for Real-Time-Strategy. I didn't get a chance to play Star Trek: Legacy. I'm  not a big fan. So I didn't pick it up. Yes, the premise from what I understand is nearly the same (in regards to RTS). One takes place in space, the other takes place in the South Pacific, haha.

Yes, to me the demo shows great promise of the final result being very good. It has changed much since I played it at E3 years ago, in fact I don't recall it being a RTS when I played it. It was more of a flight game than anything. It was also a very noticeable early build. More people were playing the "new" Halo map pack and Battlefield: 2 for the Xbox, so I spent some time with the game.

As a matter of fact, that's where I met Species8472....ahhh memories....it wasn't quite like when I met my wife, but we did hit it off fairly well....in a very manly non-sexual way. Haha.

Too funny.. Hard to believe that was E3 2005.. Time flies. I will probably download this game tonight after I install my new Onkyo Receiver (with HDMI) as the front right channel on my Rotel is bad.
