2K sports has just announced they will return to football with a game this summer.
Called All-Pro Football 2K8 they will try to do what they have done before. Outshine Madden.

I am so sick of Madden its ridiculous. Its high time for some challenge in this world and time for a game to get back to being fun. Plus EA may end up getting rid of the cheat meter.

No problem. Just doing my part to spread some info. I CANNOT WAIT for this game. This is gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG few months coming up for me. I didn't buy any Madden games since Madden 98 on ps1. I played them all over the years but just couldn't stomach it. When NFL 2K hit that was the ONLY reason why I got back into videogames. I bought the dreamcast for ONE game and that was it. Never bought madden till 07 for the 360. What a waste of disc space. I only bought it because a friend of mine was getting into the whole 360 hidef thing and wanted me to get that to play him online. This year he's gonna have to get MY game. LOL

Oh man i LOVED the NFL2k games on the dreamcast. I hate madden with a passion so this is VERY good news!

They definitely need to focus more on innovation and game development as opposed to crapping out games every year in time for the new season. I think now they know that they can post new rosters without having to rush a game and I for one can wait an extra year for an outstanding game rather than renting/returning the next Madden.

On top of that the licensing issue is ridiculous. I think competition is crucial for video games because there is nothing worse than getting stuck with a crappy game and having nothing to turn to. Look at what happened with Baseball. I gladly played NCAA baseball because the pro games were just aweful. Needs to go back to the good ole days of dual releases. Maybe limit it to two companies but one is moronic. I am praying the new MLB is better......please!!!!!! If not I will continue to play only NCAA games since those tend to the better releases right now.

Even though I do not play a ton of sports games, I like this move.. EA takes US ALL for granted...

Just as a follow up. The friend I told you guys about did indeed purchase the game. Actually he purchased both games at the same time. APF 2K8 and Madden 08. He has about one game of Madden but has been playing APF to death. I was tearing him to pieces early on but I've created a monster. He's really REALLY good now. Although I can still lay the wood down on him if need be.
