Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

The Internet has been lit aflame with the news ES:O looks prettier and runs faster on the PS3. Certain websites have reported that this is the case. My response is, I hope so. After a year and a half longer of programming, it should run and look better. Here's a couple of links so you can judge for yourself.

Those are two of the closest pictures I can find in regards to the location of the game. I honestly don't see that much of a difference. I'm not a graphics wizard, but I do know it doesn't justify the extra $200 for the PS3. Call me old fashioned.

Perhaps one needs to see the game in motion to appreciate the differences. Perhaps you need to see it in 1080p, ohh wait, 480p. I'm sorry, the PS3 can't upscale.

I suppose they need some games eventually, even if it is a port of a year old game. You can only watch so many BR-DVD's.

I think the Imperial WHite Gold Tower looked better on the 360 version. I recently started playing Oblivion again, I cant wait for the expansion. Plus in a recent episode of the 1 Up Show they said that Besteda told them that there couldnt be any DL content on the PS3 version for memory reasons (?) but the 360 version will be updated to make it look better becuase they found some new stuff they can do on the PS3 version and they are fixing it on the 360 version as well

So the expansion will have an update to smooth out some of the 360's issues? I had read that somewhere, I wasn't sure if it's truth or not. Perhaps I should do some digging, if it was in the podcast by 1up.com with the Bethesda guys, then it's a safe bet I'm sure. I still play the game, not religously, but I'm still into it.

Results

Most results I've seen is just the opposite. Most games look better on the 360...The bad part about it is the 360 versions have been out for over a year.....that's plenty of time for the PS3 to perfect the games...

Looks real good on the 360. Fun game too, you can play it forever.

I need to get some extra time this weekend. Perhaps on Sunday and I'll throw something up. What do you think of it Hotapplepie?
