Angry NO 1080p ON HD-DVD Drive "PLEASE HELP"

I have the HD-DVD add-on and samsung 61" 1080p tv. When I watch the dvd in the player they are only in 1080i not 1080p. I have changed the setting in the console, I have tried the vga cables. Is there something I am over looking. I know the TV supports it and the system so what could be the problem. Any help would be great. I would also like to know if anyone else is having the same problem. I called Miscrosoft, but got some idiot that didnt know a thing.

Does this TV support 1080p via component? Not many TV's do even though they should. What is the model number?

Playing HD DVD

Can it play HD DVD at 1080p via Component?
No. Max HD DVD resolution for Component is 1080i. Over VGA you can get 1080P.
Note that this doesn't mean the 360 cannot do 1080p over component, it can.
AACS rules limit the max resolution of a HD DVD over component to 1080i.
Your XBox will automatically switch resolution to 1080i if you have it set to 1080p
when you play a HD DVD.
