Everyone seems pretty excited about the impending release of the iPhone, but the
Los Angeles Times had a pretty good article this morning about the business implications of Apple joining the cell phone race.
It's interesting how a company can be so far ahead in one market (digital music and players, in Apple's case) and yet make up so little of another one (Mac computers only make up about 5% of that market). Which camp will the iPhone fall into?
I know MP3 phones are supposed to be the wave of the future, but personally, I'm fine with keeping my music, phone, and web browser on separate devices. Maybe I'll change my tune when that $600 price tag comes down, though.
