My Own Personal Superhero - THE digital filmmaker
Ever since I read, REBEL WITHOUT A CREW, I've been a follower of Robert Rodriguez. Who wouldn't respect a man that sold his body for a quick buck and a chance to make his first feature film?

As Rodriguez refines the tools of digital filmmaking - and the liberty that comes with them - others are slow to follow. Hollywood purists tend to dismiss the geeks in the business as more interested in technology than storytelling. --- WIRED MAGAZINE Issue 13.04 - April 2005

Check some words from the man himself.
The article is dated but still a great callback to a man making headway in today's Hollywood through innovative methods. This damn town kills creativity ... slow and subtle ... like Chinese water torture. HOWEVER, Robert is kicking ass and taking names by sticking to what knows ... regardless. When is everybody else going to learn you don't have to sell your soul to the devil to make it in this town!?
Have you checked out the new stuff he's up to? He's working on a double feature slasher project with Tarantino in the style of 70s drive-ins - complete with fake movie trailers to fill the gaps during the show! That is freaking sweet!
Some more on GRIND HOUSE.
