1080p at 47 inches...Thanks Westinghouse!
The chaps over at HDBEAT got the scoop on the the new Westinghouse LVM-47w1 flat panel display...

![]() Get the full meal here: I can see from the comments on HDBEAT that people are a little skeptical of this thing. I dunno... It's lower price has me wondering. I'd need to see this in action wiht a couple of my favorite movies before I'd plunk down the cash for this one...

I can't believe that it only has 1 HDMI port. I'd figure at this point most of the 1080p sets coming out should have at least 2. Westinghouse is also know for skimping on the audio side, i.e. not having any speakers.

i have the 42 inch westi, in fact i am on it now i use it as my pc monitor also, and i am happy with it, the picture is on par with the sets that cost way more this this one does. But i do have one of the first ones out and the old firmware, i hear you need the firmware upgrade to solve some problems with it but i am happy. I can confirm 1080p on all ports on this thing , but i do get the sparkles on the hdmi port which has been reported on the 47 inch also with some people. Some who got firmware upgrades or new models say they get no sparkles but i cant confirm that since i dont have one myself. I got my pc hooked up through the dvi port through my 7950gx2 video card running at 1920x1080, all i can say is after experiencing this there is no way in hell i can go back to smaller monitors.

I have been looking at this one and it seems the price is much better than most other 1080p. Are there any other opinions on this or suggestions for a better one in the price range....I also looked at the Toshiba, but its a bit pricier.

I have 2 Westinghouse LCD TV's A 40 inch 1080i W/DVD player (have had 1year, no problems) and just bought a 42' 1080p set. Had been watching for this one to go on sale at Best Buy and when it did, got it for $889.00! not bad at all for a 42inch 1080p
I felt no need to spend 300-700 more for a more name brand TV that for TV/DVD viewing. |
