Angry My Sharp Aquos keeps switching itself off when i play on my xbox elite

Hi,

I am playing my elite on a sharp aquos LC-42XD1EA using a HDMI cable. Everytime, after about 15 mins, the tv turns itself off and then on again. This is extremely annoying when playing on Live. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Sounds like an HDMI handshake issue maybe, you could try using a different HDMI cable, not sure if that will work though

Hi I have the exact same TV with the same problem with the elite. I have had sharp out to it 3 times now and all they do is replace a board in the back. They have told me there is no compatibility problems reported but now I have found someone with the same thing there must be. Mine also dose it with the component cable. The best thing you could do is contact sharp so they can look into the fact that they may have a problem. They are replacing my TV so I will post again if it works on the new one.

It happens with the component cables as well? That's really a mystery then. Keep us posted on this one because I'd really like to know what could possibly do that. Has to be some kind of syncing issue. Does it happen the exact same time down to the minute/second? Did you try the last resort and see if it happens over good OLD composite?

It dose not happen at the exact same time sometimes it happens when you first turn the xbox on and other times you can play on it for 10 to 15 minutes and then it will happen. Some times we have a warning that its going to happen the screen will develop a few white flickering lines down your right hand side and a few minutes after turn off and back on. Other times it will just go off with no warning and then come back on. Once it has gone off and back on it will not do it again even it the xbox in on for hours. It did it when we first got the tv just over a month ago with our xbox premium so we got the elite thinking the hdmi would fix it. I have not tried it with composite but I will and see what happens. I'm also going to try and get a video of it.

They replaced The board behind the hdmi sockets. I think they know they have an issue because the technician phoned me yesterday to see how it was working and when I told him it was fine now he said they had just had a new order of parts and the software had been updated. He told me the part was from the new batch and he was going to tell his supervisor what had happened and what part fixed it. I don't think he would have said this if it was not know to be an issue. I just hope all the TVs made from now on have this new part.
