Dish Network HD

I'm in a little small town in KS that sadly doesn't get much as far as HD. As a matter of fact I've had my HDTV now for almost a year and the only thing HD that it has seen is been the Xbox360 sadly enough.

I have DishNetwork now for my normal TV viewing and really want HD, but I'm not sure how well their quality actually is...has anyone here tried DishHD? If so what are your thoughts on it?

I have seen DishHD. It is good but Comcast has the best signal. If Dish or DirectTV is your only choice, then go for it. You will be pleased.. If Comcast is available, it should be your first choice.

Do not forget about the 360 HD-DVD drive today...

Later..

Yeah, no Comcast...I wish. I only have Cox, Dish, or DirectTV as choices. I currently have Dish, but trying to figure out which one has the best HD package and go that route.

DishTV is up to 28 HD channels, which is very nice.. DirectTV has less than DishTV or Comcast unless you like Sports a lot.. DishTV is your best choice as they offer the most channels.

Late..

hold off for a few months before making a big decision, I think DirectTV has a dedicated HD satellite that goes in to service around the first quarter of 2007

*sigh*...I like the sound of that, but at the same time I'm really wanting some sort of HD content. Guess I can always just make due with Microsoft's download of HD movies and TV shows coming up. lol.

I agree with Krispy. There are a lot of advantages for going with Cable including the internet bundle and you get almost every channel you could want in HD. I am partial to sports myself so I would lean more towards Direct TV but if you like Desperate Housewives or Lifetime in HD then you best stick with Dish. Its a buyers market so do a ton of research for providers in your area and match up the options before you jump in......then sit back and relax for some Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader auditions in HD.

I'm torn between Dish and cable as well - we got an HDTV, and have the dish 522, but are waiting for locals in our area (Tulsa). In markets like this one, cable does have its appeal in being able to offer HD DVR capabilities with locals.
