Thumbs down Dish Network High Definition Channel List

Dish Network offers the most HD channels of all 3 of the major providers (Comcast, DirectTV, Dish). Their 30 channel selection which does not include locals is the best in the biz. Dish Network requires you to "purchase" the ViP622 DVR at 199.99 (supports 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i). The ViP622 supports "two" TV's but only one can be HD as the 2nd TV has it's resolution downgraded to 480i. If you need more than one HD DVR I suggest using cable as 199.99 per DVR becomes expensive for an initial investment. Dish also offers a HD Receiver called the ViP211. The cost of receiver varies depending on their specials. Please contact Dish for the latest. 1-888-284-7116 or DISH Network -- Home

DISH DVR ViP622

-Supports 480i, 480p 720p and 1080i

-Dual Tuner with support for "two" TV's: One TV can receive HD signals while the 2nd TV can only receive downgraded 480i signal.

-Record 200 hours of Standard Definition Programming or 30 hours of HD Programming

-Full DVR Features: Record, Rewind, Fast Forward and Pause

-Multiple Outputs: HDMI, Component, S-Video, Composite, Optical for Dolby Digital 5.1, Coax and Analog Audio

-Multiple IO: USB and Ethernet

Local Channels are available for 5.00/5.99 per month (The Satellite providers can charge for locals).
