DIRECTV offers a good HD lineup and the absolute best Sports HD channel lineup. By mid next year DIRECTV will have new satellites in service which will enable them to deliver over 150 HD Channels (probably 50+ % are sports channels, but impression nevertheless). If you are a huge sports fan, DIRECTV HD is for you. The DIRECTV HD Receiver and HD DVR vary in price at times according to purchase time and specials available.
