I don't necessarily believe that digital TV will die b/c of HD. I know my provider in particular no longer offers analog for pay channels so once you get HBO on your ticket, you're graduated to digital television. They'll do fine for many years to come.
I will say that there is a very lame amount of HD channels available. But then again, there are way to many channels to begin with. I don' t need Noggin HD.
