As the release of the Matrix HD-DVD nears, WB and Microsoft have posted some HD Clips of the Matrix. The clips provide a preview of what to expect come this Tuesday May 22ND. All 4 clips are from the 1st Matrix movie and they look surprisingly sharp for a movie shot in 1998 and has many scenes that were created using still cameras (all slo-mo/bullet-time scenes were done with an array of 100+ cameras arranged around the actor). The clips seen to have a bit too much green in them but remember the clips are encoded using the H.264 codec that Microsoft uses for Marketplace content. I expect the VC-1 encoded stuff on the HD-DVD disk to be better. Hit the Marketplace for the clips, then get back to HALO 3.
