Platinum XBOX 360 at $900!!!
PS3News.ca has an interesting counter argument to the crazy price for the PS3. They're claiming a new XBOX 360 will release in the fall with the HD DVD drive included at a price of $900.

...uhh, err, the hell? Wasn't the add-on drive supposed to go for less? I mean, like half as much? The sentence caught me unawares, so I prodded.
Me: "Five Hundred? Doesn't that sound a little steep? I was thinking 200 or 250."
Rep: "Well, the Blu-Ray players are going for a thousand, and other HD-DVD players are going for half that, so that's going to be the price point."

More on the price war...
I admit, I'm a fan of the 360. I dont' know what I'll do when GOD OF WAR releases only on PS3...but I'll have to cross the mythological bridge when I get there. Nonetheless, I still like the option of buying a 360 at $400 and comtemplating the drive at another point in my check book.
