Silva challenging Liddell last year at UFC 61
UFC President Dana White made a big announcement tonight: Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell will finally face "The Axe Murderer" Wanderlei Silva. I have been waiting for this fight since last year. When I saw Chuck at a Strip Club last November, Chuck said he was ready for Silva. But since then, Silva has lost to Crocop and Henderson while Liddell has lost to Rampage Jackson and Keith Jardine. I believe Liddell is finished as he was a big fish in a small pond before Pride Fighters joined the UFC after the acquisition earlier this year. Silva on the other hand is a BEAST and his recent losses were to some of the BEST in the world. I believe Silva is ready to storm back with a serious vengeance causing complete chaos in the Light Heavyweight division of the UFC. Liddell/Silva will happen at UFC 79: NEMESIS Saturday December 29th!
