The rumor mill has been churning for quite some time and now it appears that WB will make an adjustment coming into the 4th quarter of this year. According to
Dan Silverberg (VP at WB), WB is about to join one camp or the other exclusively. Will it be HD-DVD or Blu-Ray? With the Hardware prices for HD-DVD falling out of the floor, the time has come for mass adoption. Sure Blu-Ray prices are dropping but they will not hit the pricing levels of HD-DVD anytime soon. In the end, everything comes down to price vs features and HD-DVD has everything at what is now reasonable prices for anyone looking to upgrade. Dan's statement says that WB went with Blu-Ray in addition to HD-DVD because they wanted consumers to have a choice. Now that HD-DVD prices are ridiculously low, price will now dominate adoption instead of the enthusiasts. I believe the end is coming... Stay Tuned.

This is from the article:
Also there was Dan Silverberg, VP of high-definition media for Warner Home Video, which since Paramount´s move to the HD DVD camp is the only studio to support both next-generation formats.
That may not be for long, Silverberg said. "One thing that may be changing is our strategy," he said. "When both formats launched and hardware prices were high, we made a decision to support both formats and let the consumer decide. But now that hardware pricing is affordable for both Blu-ray and HD DVD, it appears consumers no longer want to decide — so the notion of staying in two formats for the duration is something we are re-evaluating now that we are in the fourth quarter."
