Toshiba was looking to make some mainstream noise with the $98.00 A2 sale at Walmart and has achieved the goal. News outlets EVERYWHERE have covered this amazing deal of the year and HD-DVD is poised in a very positive light which is something the format has "EARNED" from Day 1. The Walmart pre Black-Friday sale was a tremendous success. The A2 HD-DVD Player at $98.00 and Acer Laptop for $348.00 were completely sold out by 6AM at many locations. Stores handed out tickets to those in line so that no mad rush occurred when the store opened. At stores here in the Silicon Valley, you had NO chance if you did not arrive by 5:30AM. I knew you had to arrive early but 5 or 5:30 AM is crazy for early November. It seems that ever since the launch of XBOX 360, the world is willing to wait in line for anything. For then again, getting the A2 at $98.00 is not just anything. You are acquiring a world class High Definition product and also receiving 5 free movies in the process. Anyone actually pick one up this morning?
