The madness that started on Friday morning with Toshiba HD-DVD Players selling at Walmart for 98 bones helped Toshiba to sell 90,000 HD-DVD Players in JUST 3 days. Not a bad number at all. I actually thought the number would be less but with Circuit City and Best Buy lowering prices and matching prices, Toshiba outsold Blu-Ray's number selling player (not the PS3) in the same 3 day period. 90,000 additional players in the market will DO a lot to boost HD-DVD software sales in the coming weeks. The one-two punch of Transformers and the HD-DVD Player sales proves that the format is ready to push the fight to the next level. It will be nice to see the software sales numbers in January for November and December of this year. CES 2008 should prove to be very interesting...
