Blu-Ray has been on a roll since Warner turned Benedict Brothers right before the start of CES. Netflix has chosen to phase out HD-DVD and warns cost increase could be on the horizon and Blu-Ray player sales continue to do well even though they are not selling at the pace they were in the 2nd week of Jan. In the meantime, HD-DVD remains DEFIANT, prepared to drag the war out to no end. American Gangster was released this week in combo disk form for one low price of 19.99 in some stores. If Paramount and especially Universal refuse to change, is the war really over? These two studios are responsible for the major of GOOD major motion pictures along with WB. Fox has never been a major player to me since franchises like Star Wars and Indy have never made their way to HD. Until WB drops HD-DVD in May or something else happens, it really is business as usual.....
