Blu-Ray's Marketing Problem!

Now that the WAR has pretty much come to an end, Blu-Ray has another issue that needs to be addressed. The issue is the name "Blu-Ray"! All Blu-Ray Marketing material especially studio TV ads always refer to Blu-Ray as "Blu-Ray Hi-def". The Blu-Ray name is very confusing to many consumers who are NOT early adopters or hardware enthusiasts. The Marketing name of "Blu-Ray Hidef" pretty much concedes that the Blu-Ray association is completely aware of the fact that the name Blu-Ray does not imply High Definition. HD-DVD on the other hand is very clear. Everyone knows what HD means and everyone knows what a DVD is, therefore HD-DVD has always been the PERFECT NAME for the successor to DVD regardless of which format actually won the WAR. The Blu-Ray assoc should now be in talks to discuss licensing or purchasing the rights to the name "HD-DVD" ending any further confusion and lame marketing names/slogans! Food for thought for my friends, food for thought...
