With the launch of the PS3 less than 2 days away and campers everywhere freezing their a*ses off in the cold, rain and snow, HDTV compatibility issues have cropped up on the PS3. Apparently the PS3 cannot upscale 720p games to 1080i if the display does not support 720p. This is pretty serious in my eyes as Sony has manufactured and sold lots of CRT based HDTV's (XBR line I believe) that support only 480i, 480p and 1080i. In fact a very good friend of mine has one of these sets. The good old 360 has never had this problem. How would you feel if you waited in the cold or rain for days to discover you can only play games in 480p until Sony addresses the issue in a patch (at a later date)?
