CEPro has a story to regarding the declining interest in viewing HDTV material and also purchasing HDTV's for HDTV material. It appears consumers are becoming more confused by all of the HD stuff such as Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, LCD, Plasma, DLP, etc. Unless you are educated on the matter, making choices and understanding the revolution can be madness. Many consumers fail to understand that once you purchase an HDTV that you will need to purchase HDTV services from your local cable company or satelite provider. A survey done last year indicated by some 60+ percent of consumers with HDTV's actually thought they were watching HDTV material when they were NOT. Apparently that number has dropped this year to around 33 percent or so.

Now this is just odd.
In the past two years, the number of consumers who look forward to watching high-definition TV on their HD sets has dropped from 63 percent to 47 percent, and the number of consumers purchasing HD sets for high-def content has almost halved to around 25 percent, according to the NY Times (via Gizmodo).
