ClickStar thinks its model of charging between $9.99 and $11.99 to rent first-run feature movies will win over users. (Users can also pay between $19.99 and $24.99 to own them.) Intel, for its part, hopes the service will drive demand for its Viiv technology platform, which has shipped on some 2 million media PCs from makers such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Sony since last January. The technology lets users download digital content, and then watch it on Viiv-enabled media PCs and TVs.
