Talking Star Trek Legacy for XBOX 360 has "finally" arrived in stores!

After much delay Star Trek Legacy for XBOX 360 arrived in stores today (PC version shipped over a week ago). Picked up my reserved copy minutes ago and will now plunge deep into the Legacy of all "5" Captains: Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway (my favorite) and Archer. The talented D.C. Fontana (famed storyline writer for Trek) lead the storyline development with voices provided by all "5" Captains. The PC version has not done well in many reviews but the game was developed on 360 and simply ported to the PC (as a way to make extra cash). Gamers over on the Legacy Forums agree that the 360 version is superior to the PC version.

REVIEW can be found HERE.

Of course... Been busy playing though.. The game is good.. It is pure space combat in realtime. The stories are well written with damn good voice acting. There is no 1st or 3rd person though, all dialog occurs while traveling from objective to objective or during combat. Being able to directly control other ships in your fleet is very cool. Controls take some getting used to. I found it easier to let the helm (by command) steer the ship when in combat rougly 80% of time so you can focus on managing the others and doing damage to enemies. Graphics are solid and the sound is KILLER, not Gears stuff but very good for a space combat adventure. I am about to jump on XBOX LIVE to see what it is like.. So, if you are a fan, I recommend this game hands down. If you are not a fan then you must like space combat in realtime or be open minded..

Review will come in a day or two..

So in combat you just issue orders for movement? Like "Patten Delta Sisko" or something? Can you make your own patterns if so?

You mean the gameplay is not gears or the graphics and sound is not as good as gears?

You set the course for the helm via single button (a) or the map. You can take over at anytime by moving the LS. You can also devert power to systems like Engines, Shields, and Weapons.. Repairs can be done too..

Sorry, I was talking about Graphics...

Ok , got the game today. Scott Bakula may be a good actor (Enterprise, Quantum Leap, Master of Illusion or something like that) but as a voice over guy he pretty much sucks. Sorry but I'm just waiting for him to say something like "The engines are almost done, period. Oh I wasn't supposed to say the period?" However everyone around him seems better. Also the timing in the dialogue at the beginning seems off. People don't usually wait for someone to complete a whole sentence, pause, and then answer back. That was disturbing.

I thought the learning curve was gonna be pretty steep at first as even though I completed the first mission on the first pass I really didn't have a clue to what I was doing. But now I got what I need to at least survive a fire fight. Getting used to fighting in space is something disturbing. LOL. I think the fact that there is no gravity pulling you "down" and forcing you not to "crash into the ground" throws you off as it feels you're just flying all over the place. But like you said , I just give it to the helm. "Go over there. Aye Captain" lol

Graphics are pretty good to me. I like them. Just want to get to the Defiant already, lol.

EDIT: I was a power diverting fool in the second mission. Did you ever make it to the repair station? I didn't. Every time I'd go to get a little tender loving here come the Romulans

I am waiting for my Defiant too (my favorite ship)... I agree on Scotts acting, it is off somewhat.. Glad to hear the learning curve was steep for you as well.. Was not sure if it was me. ...

The only achievement I've gotten was I guess completing the first mission. Other than that I'm blanked out. The biogenic mission is a mother. I'm getting lambasted and don't even know if my boys are really fighting with me or not. I look in the radar and see me and a bunch of red but they keep reporting like they did something.

Well when I go to take out the stations I get taken out. First time I just ran outta time I guess second time I got waylayed on. I mean they were lighting me up. I had lost one ship already and then I went down in flames.

Gonna give it another try....
