It appears that Sony has lost another "pure exclusive". VF5 was scheduled to be released as a PS3 ONLY title when released in late Feb of 2007, but now that has changed. VF5 is now a "time limited exclusive" for the PS3 (lasting only a few months) and then it heads straight to the baddest console with the baddest online service in the known universe in early to mid-summer of 2007, XBOX 360 and XBOX LIVE. WOOHOO!

The Virtua Fighter series is one of my favorite arcade fighters right next to "Killer Instinct" (MS and Rare own this IP, expect KI to come in the next year or so). It appears that more and more devs are opting for 360 because the install base is pretty significant at this point and the PS3 may not reach a decent install base until 2008 or later, especially since interest in the console is dying down a bit already (much sooner than 360 last year at this same time).

Man, Killer Instinct would be an awesome Live Arcade game. I forgot that Rare made that game. I'll need to get a joystick for sure. Glacius rules!

Why? There aren't a whole lot of people that have been clamoring for some Virtua Fighter. Plus, have you SEEN most of Sega's recent offerings? They're hurting for cash so bad, they're trying to throw stuff onto whatever console will take it.
