As everyone knows, the Cell is the processor powering the PS3. What many do not know is that Toshiba, Sony and IBM developed the Cell (and not just Sony). I have always found it strange that Toshiba and Sony worked together on the Cell, then went opposite directions when it came to HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. The Cell is really designed for video (and not video games as Sony wants us all to believe) and should excel when applied to digital devices for your living room. Devices such as DVR's and Media Centers should excel under the Cell which has the ability to decode and stream multiple HDTV feeds at a single time to various other devices in the home. With Toshiba doing an excellent job with HD-DVD, I put my money on them to deliver the first UBER cool living device.
