Yahoo Finance News is reporting that Samsung Electronics America has shipped the first Blu–ray high–definition disc player to retailers in the U.S. for availability on June 25. Sony Pictures said it would launch the first slate of Blu–ray disc titles on June 20.

Ok. So do you buy this now? Or do you wait for the Playstation 3 and kill two birds with one stone? I mean, they are charging $999 for this thing and the PS3 will only be $600... I still am sticking with the plan of buying the HD-DVD add-on peripheral for my XBOX 360, and then a PS3 later for my Blu-Ray drive.
These format wars suck... It's going to be expensive for the early adopter.
