Snake Plissken returns as Gerald Butler (300) is cast in Escape from New York remake!
It appears that Gerald Butler has been cast in the lead of the "one eyed" Snake Plissken in the remake of the "John Carpenter's Escape from New York". This development is awesome as I LOVE "Escape from New York" (one of my favorite movies) and have always wanted to see a sequel (as "Escape from LA" sucked) and or remake of the movie. Gerald Butler who is hot off his performance as King Leonidas in "300" and could bring the same passion to the "Escape from New York" remake. "Escape from New York" was ground breaking at the time as the movie launched the career of Kurt Russell and painted a bleak picture of our future justice system in the not so distant future. Would we actually turn New York city into a prison? Maybe it is not a bad idea to let the scum of the world take each other out?
