Would like some HD-DVD with that 360?

Looks like Microsoft is hesitant to make a decision until we do regarding which format will reign supreme. At least that's what totalvideogames.com had to report:

Speaking to the Mainichi, Takashi Sensui, General Manager Xbox Japan, has suggested that Microsoft currently have no plans to incorporate the forthcoming HD-DVD drive internally within Xbox 360 units, but did suggest that this could be a possibility if consumers show enough demand.

Is Microsoft not joining the accessory bandwagon? I think it's ridiculous for them not to make some money off of the fact that consumers will be buying these things based on their best guess...and Microsoft being the brand that it is can seriously bank on whatever they put on the shelf.

I think they may know something I don't know....although that doesn't surprise me.
