HD on my iPod...just how I like it.
Good Ol' Steve Jobs is trying desperately to keep hold of the iPod lovers and make more room for those that just want to have the bestest gadgets out there. ANYTHING to hold back those hungry Microsoft wolves until they can revamp the video iPod. Here's what news.zdnet.com had to say:

ATO will come out with a sleeve with a built-in LCD (liquid crystal display) screen that slips around Apple Computer's iPod--whether it's a video iPod or not--and turns it into a portable high-definition video player. The HD player will sell for between $199 and $250 and will be released in five months. The initial players will be able to handle MPEG 4, Divx, HD.264 and other video formats.

Tickled?
The new little unit will sport its own area of storage and claim to be an easy way to get around having to encode everything into Apple's special system that basically monitors and polices everything you watch and listen to. They also claim that this isn't meant to play retail feature films or shows....just UTube type content and home movies. HOWEVER, anyone interested in these kind of toys isn't impressed by safetly measures placed on DVDs and will be playing X-MEN in full HD glory before you know it! Now if only it could also serve as a portable massager or make room for a couple of shots of Jack D...THEN and only THEN would it really be my home entertainment home away from home!
