Toshiba informed us today that the HD-A20 1080p HD-DVD Player is finally on sale at retailers for the price of 499.00, yes 499.00. The price was announced as 599.00 at CES but since then Toshiba has lowered the price on their entire line of HD-DVD Players by 100 bones. The A2 is now 399.00, the A20 is 499.00 and XA2 is now 799.00. If you need to simply get into HD-DVD then purchase the 1080i A2 (nothing wrong with 1080i) or spend an extra 100 bones for the A20 and get everything (1080P, TrueHD support, etc) but HDMI 1.3 (and Deep-Color). The A20 should be very appealing to those who were let down by Microsoft's lack of support for uncompressed audio in the Elite 360.
