PGR4 Update from Bizarre Creations - Weather Effects!

Bizarre Creations is going to great lengths to provide dynamic (keyword) weather effects for Project Gotham Racing 4. The game will showcase a variety of weather effects that can occur while racing on any of the courses in the games 10 cities. Yes, PGR4 will feature 10 cities as the dev team has lots of time to devote to the development of "content" for the game as the PGR3 engine is upgradeable (no need to build new engine) and the team is also very comfortable with the 360 hardware.

Today Bizarre released some screen-shots showing off weather effects in PGR4 and also released details on the how the weather system works and how the weather will effect you vehicle.

Clear Day

A normal, sunny day. Your cornering will be sharp, assuming you have the skills.

Heavy Fog

A huge cloud descends over the track. Visibility is severely reduced, and finding your way is difficult. The nice thing about PGR4's fog is that it's not just a static effect though. It actually has a height and depth, and can be patchy. In one of our unannounced cities, the track goes into the mountains and out from the skyscrapers. You'll pull up and above the fog, and be able to look out over the city and see the tops of buildings poking through the grey.

Heavy Rain

Lots and lots of the wet stuff. Your visibility will be reduced, and you'll be peering between frantic windscreen wipers when using in-car view. Deep puddles form around the track, and should be avoided at all costs.

Snow

The track is icy and slippery, snow is falling from the sky, and all the puddles have completely frozen over. You'll need to drive slower and avoid the icy patches; even if it means straying from the racing line.

The complete update detailing all 10 weather conditions can be found at Bizarre Creations HERE.
