yup indeed they did...but who can believe any of that...they already knew a month ago when they were asked that question that they were going BD exclusive...i think we can all be pretty sure of that fact.

i cant believe the HDDVD camp thought they would do anything but go Blu...HDDVD never outsold blu ray any week of this entire year on the Nielsen Video scan numbers...thats pretty sad considering they had a firesale of cheap players.

yes HDDVD has more STANDALONE players in the market...but i think you have to count the PS3 sales as well...even though im sure many people who own a PS3 dont have an BD but judging by the software sales and all that is going on right now that was the determining factor...including BD in PS3 basically won it all...and yes it is won.

as for the MS rumors of making a new 360 with a built in HD drive, sorry but its just to late for that now....i dont see how they can release a totally new system with a HDDVD drive and actually convince people that they need/want it...with all the bad press HDDVD is going to get perception will be everything to the mainstream media and consumers.

and one more thing...heres a little theory of mine...i think the reason HDDVD never outsold BD on software is because of this one reason...the HDDVD camp's entire strategy revolved around price...if the price wasnt good no one would have EVER bought into HDDVD...i just think HDDVD owners for the most part are just to damn CHEAP! they never really sold any serious amount of players unless they were basically giving them away whereas with BD, my god, the cheapest players are around $300 and they have absolutely crushed HDDVD...thats not to mention the player prices from the start...BD original players were $1000 and didnt come down NEARLY as fast as HDDVD...i just think BD backers are more serious about their HD media...at least thats what the numbers say!!! cant argue with that!

I'm going to have to disagree with alot of that buddy. lol. But it does look bad for HD-DVD. They made some bad moves and now it's going to cost them. They should have ALWAYS had their movies cheaper than blu-ray. They should ALWAYS had every movie come out be combo-disks. Alot of moves that were made by the HD-DVD camp was more about making immediate money rather than winning the war. I still enjoy my HD-DVD player and will continue to do so. I'm not one that must have the latest releases the minute they drop so I can wait to get the HD-DVD version when it comes around from "other sources" lol

Also, now that Warner has shown they aren't a company to be trusted ANY movie they make will only be purchased in "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" format for me. They also claim they didn't get paid off. YEAH RIGHT. Warner's word and credibility is zero to me now. If I had purchased a HD-DVD on the strength of Warner's word I'd be so irrate right now. But I purchased my HD-DVD add-on when it came out so no biggie to me.

But I do hope the studios sticking with HD-DVD stay with them and stick it to Sony. I like seeing the "underdog" get a few bites in.

i agree that they should have always been cheaper with media cuz if it werent for the price difference on players no one would have ever given HD DVD a change i dont think...as for getting a few bites...lol...theyve gotten those in and now its over....OVER!!! nice thats its over though! at least peepz can go and buy a player in peace now...hehe

It is going to be an enteresting few months. I do believe that WB was bribbed to join the Bluray camp. They say that 60% of their sales were Bluray titles. What about the other 40%? 40% coming from HD DVD is a great, there isn't as many players out there and yet their sales in high def was that high.

UMM LETS SEE

1. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS UM YA PRETTY BIG

2. PARAMOUNT PICTURES (RUMOURS ABOUT JUMPING SHIP ARE NOT TRUE)

SUPPORTS HD-DVD MICROSOFT AREN'T THEY THE SECOND RICHEST COMPANY IN THE WORLD... I'M CURIOUS TO WHAT MR. GATES NEXT MOVE WILL BE... MAYBE CUTTING THE COST OF THE HDDVD PLAYER FOR THE 360 IN HALF.... OR MAYBE PULL OUT HIS POCKET CHANGE TO PURSWAY OTHER COMPANIES TO COME ALONG JUST LIKE WARNER WAS BY BLURAY... ITS FAR FROM OVER YET MY FRIENDS...

lol...you dont really think that those remaining studios who are behind HD DVD are going to stay that way for long do you? if you were in their shoes right now would you want to stay HD DVD when Blu Ray now has roughly a 70% overall command of studio support? i know i wouldnt...and as for their "contract" for HD DVD exclusivity...bah! what does a written agreement mean in america? nothing

anyone hear a fat lady singing?

elvis has left the building!
