Pete Shaner, the writer/director/producer of "Nicolas" just wrapped on America's first 24 P hidef movie. It was shot in 18 days here in Los Angeles using one of the Panavised prototypes. Talented DP S. Douglas Smith, (also Producer on "Nicholas") recounted his Hidef adventure to a passionate crowd at this years Showbiz Expo. Diary of a Sex Addict - Rosanna Arquette, Nastassja Kinski and Ed Begley Jr. star in the feature "Diary of a Sex Addict", which was shot on HiDef. The movie depicts a restaurant owner whose life goes haywire due to his double life -- that of a sex addict. Directed by Joseph Brutsman, the project has been picked up by Columbia TriStar for distribution.

FRANCE

Principal photography of "Vidocq" wrapped late june as special-effects legend Pitof directed Gerard Depardieu and Guillaume Canet in the worlds first full-length feature, shot entirely in HiDef with the 24p.

GERMANY

Wim Wenders is getting set to shoot another HiDef Movie with Sony's 24P tentatively titled "In America". Wenders last toss in the digital sand box was "Ground Beneth Her Feet" with U2 and once again the 24P. We managed to sneak a peek at NAB. Looked Good.

Michael Ballhaus: Germany's most celebrated actor (amongst others) is set to shoot "Gone Underground": Dubbed as the worlds first dramatic movie to be shot in 24p and Europe's first Movie to be projected via HiDef Projection in Berlin

ITALY

Italy's first HiDef Movie will be "Trionfo Dell'Amore" directed by BERNARDO BERTOLUCCI. Rumors have it that four other HiDef Movies are in the works.

BENELUX AND SCANDINAVIA

Sweden has two features planned for the 24P "Home Sweet Home" directed by DAN ING and "Personal Protection Specialists" directed by Anders Nilsson.
