JONESTREET Media Art’s Producer, Michael Adrian (right), is working with distinguished actor, Barry Corbin, on a documentary about New Horizons, a treatment center in Goldthwaite, TX that provides a safe home environment for children, who have been mentally or physically abused.
Adrian previously worked for a high-definition production facility in Dallas, when he began looking for a project that could utilize the high-resolution format HiDef provides. "Brandon Grebe of New Horizons, contacted me to see if I could help create a media demo that demonstrated the critical mission of their treatment center. HiDef is so realistic; it gives you a true sense of being inside the story. I immediately knew this was the project I had been looking for," said Adrian.
Adrian wrote a treatment and within six months secured commitments from celebrated actor, Barry Corbin, sound designers, a scriptwriter and other film crewmembers. "It’s amazing to witness the generosity of the many talented people, who are giving their time and equipment for free because they share a concern for the great work New Horizons is doing," Adrian stated.
The documentary explores the harsh reality the children endured before coming to New Horizons and how the unique programs New Horizons offers have helped the children find hope, inspiration, love and care. "This project has made me very aware of how fortunate I was to grow up in a loving environment. It has inspired me to make sure the rest of the world appreciates the important mission New Horizons performs by taking care of children in need," Adrian said.
Adrian’s crew and equipment for the New Horizons documentary include: Modern Movie Machines and HD VISION - HiDef equipment; grip and lighting, Just Productions; Kirk Louden and Brent Marshall, sound design and score; Kevin Caddell, HD VISION Engineer; Jared Moseley, HiDef camera; James Reid, StediCam; Scott Jones, offline editing; Paul Meyer Productions, script; and Joey Wright, HiDef Camera.
Adrian plans to offer the documentary nationwide to the HiDef consortium (stations nationwide that broadcast HiDef).
